While the kids were down for a visit we took them to Quail Island. We explored the old wrecks and found sea glass littering the beaches.
We also went to the west coast to visit one of Nick's mates who owns a salmon farm. The smoked fish was delicious and I liked the fact that he had Huntaways (New Zealand's only official dog breed). We visited the Fox Glacier and hiked around a lake with lovely views of the mountains.
